This site is backed by the Stop The Charge coalition, a group of seven MPs representing all parties, three Greater Manchester council leaders and the Greater Manchester Momentum Group (GMMG), an alliance of 260 international, national and local businesses - from Kellogg's to Rodgers the Florist.
All want the best for Greater Manchester. All believe current Transport Innovation Fund (TIF) proposals would be bad for our region, bad for our community and bad for our economy.
Current plans simply offer very poor value for money. They are simply inappropriate for the way we live and work today. The congestion charging scheme they would bring - by far the world's largest - would unfairly penalise you, our constituents and employees.
Worse still, if we don't recoup the £1.2 billion debt we will take on under the TIF scheme, the knock effects will be felt across our community for many years to come.
We believe there are many other low-cost, environmentally sound solutions (see alternatives section) that must be explored properly
